Business owner arrested for domestic assault

A 33-year-old Independence Township woman was arrested after allegedly assaulting a 48-year-old Waterford man in her closed store on Sashabaw Road.
Police arrested the woman after she called 911 shortly after 5:00 a.m. on Jan. 30. The man stated he met the woman to discuss business at midnight. At around 3 a.m., the man alleges he tried to leave but the woman prevented him from leaving the store for about two hours.
Around 5 a.m., the man stated he was slapped in the face many times by the woman and shoved into the store shelves. He also stated she drank during the entire meeting.
The two reportedly argued over whether or not the man was going to tell his wife about dating the 33-year-old woman.
The woman admitted to slapping him and claimed she called police to get back at the man. She refused to write a witness statement.
According to reports, after police handcuffed the woman, she became disruptive and tried to kick the officer. Reports also state she had to be forced into the police car and continued trying to kick the officer after arriving at Oakland County Jail.
