Natalie Nance, a 2003 Lake Orion High School graduate and Oxford resident, was killed in a car accident on Jan. 14 while traveling near Cadillac.
Nance, 21, was riding in a vehicle with her boyfriend, Mike Pisha, of Wixom, and his cousin Phillip, on their way to Boyne Mountain.
As Pisha was driving, the vehicle hit some black ice, spun out of control and rolled three times before hitting a tree.
Sadly, Natalie was pronounced dead at the scene. Mike and Phillip were both airlifted to a hospital in Traverse City. Both are expected to make full recoveries.
Natalie was a junior at Western Michigan University, where she was studying business administration.
She excelled at art and cosmetology, and received many awards for her outstanding accomplishments.
Natalie was a cheerleader during her time at LOHS, working her way up to captain of the varsity team.
Natalie had many friends and will be greatly missed by all. She was loved for the person she was, the person she strived to be, the person she wasn’t, and the person we’ll always remember her as.
She was the loving daughter of mother Renee Rowe and stepfather Jim Rowe, who operate the Treeside Psychological Clinic in Lake Orion, and father George Nance and stepmother Geralyn Nance, of Leonard.
She was the loving sister of Rachael Nance, half-brother Canyon Rowe, and stepsisters Kaylee, Kale and Kain.
She was the granddaughter of Dale and Jan Salswedel, of Oxford, and Sheila Nance (Grandma GA) of CA, George Nance (Papa Boat) of MS, and Jim Murray (Papa Jim) of FL.
She was the niece of Aunt Shari and Uncle Jim Buckles. She is the aunt of newborn Angelina Renee Shafer.
Interment was at Ridgelawn in Oxford.
