Close, but no wins for icers

Flint Metro League hockey is becoming synonymous with close, hard-fought games.
The Wildcats lost a 4-3 overtime match with Lapeer West last week. In mid-December, the Wildcats had beaten West by the same score also in overtime.
Most of the FML matches this season have been close games as most of the team are evenly matched. Even league-leading Brandon has barely won most of its league games.
Michael Jacovetti, John Thompson and Alex Hoffman each scored for Oxford.
On Saturday, the Wildcats dropped a non-league game to Goodrich, 8-3.
Hoffman scored two goals in the game but the Martians? Max Hawkins scored four goals and assisted on two others. Oxford will do battle with FML foes Lapeer East on Wednesday at 5 p.m.and against Linden on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Both games are at the Lapeer Polar Palace.
