Grand Blanc knocks off GHS cagers

Goodrich’s varsity girls basketball team faced a stiff nonleague test in its next-to-last regular season game.
The visiting Martians were outscored 13-3 in the fourth quarter of their Nov. 8 game against Grand Blanc, as the Bobcats earned a 52-39 win.
Goodrich fell to 15-4 on the season with the loss, while Grand Blanc, a member of the Big Nine Conference, improved to 13-6.
Amy Ramiller led the Martians with 12 points, while Kortni Elsworth added 11 points and nine rebounds.
Goodrich has a bye in their Class B district tournament, which begins Monday, Nov. 14 at Flint Southwestern Academy.
Flint Powers takes on LakeVille at 6 p.m. that evening in the opening round of districts, while Flint Southwestern Academy plays Mt. Morris at approximately 7:45 p.m.
The Martians are scheduled to take on the winner of the Powers-LakeVille game at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, while Montrose will face the winner of the Flint Southwestern-Mt. Morris game at approximately 7:45 p.m. that evening.
The district championship game is slated for 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18.
