Brandon boys harriers wrap up league season

Brandon’s boys cross country team earned a fourth place finish at the Flint Metro League meet Oct. 19.
The Blackhawks earned 114 points to finish in the upper half of teams competing at the meet. Fenton took first place at the meet, while Linden finished second and Oxford third. That finish mirrored where those three teams finished in the final league standings.
Brandon’s 3-4 regular season dual meet record, coupled with their league meet finish, landed them fifth in the final league standings as they prepare for regionals Oct. 29 at Marysville.
Trevor DeWitt was the Blackhawks? leading runner at the league meet, finishing in a time of 17:37. Steve Sanday followed at 17:58, while Adam George finished in 18:27. Jared Blunk (18:32) and Blake McLellan (18:35) rounded out the Brandon scoring.
The Blackhawks also finished fifth out of nine teams at the Reese Invitational Oct. 15. DeWitt (17:46), Sanday (17:59), George (18:10), Nicola Grupido (18:27) and Blunk (18:34) placed for the Blackhawks.
