Swimmers can’t get by Stoney Creek

The Lake Orion girls swimming and diving team travels to West Bloomfield on Sept. 22, after losing to Stoney Creek at home on Sept. 13.
The Dragons were defeated by Stoney Creek, 97-84.
Winning two events for the Lake Orion team was sophomore Emily Loerch, who won the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:08.26, and the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:07.10.
Also winning events for the Dragons was senior Emily Roesch, who finished first in the 200 individual medley, with a time of 2:21.31; and the 500 freestyle, with a time of 5:39.87.
Sophomore Jenna Dorey took the diving competition for Lake Orion, finishing first with her score of 182.80.
Senior Perri Mitchell rounded out Lake Orion’s scoring, finishing first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:06.47.
The Dragons return to the Lake Orion High School Natatorium on Sept. 27 to face Rochester.
The meet begins at 6:30 p.m.
The team competes in the Oakland County Meet on Oct. 1 at Dondero.
