Goodrich – Shear Madness styling salon has professional stylists, the latest techniques, and a relaxed atmosphere.
It’s everything the community wants, says owner Shelli Hebert, a Matrix hair product educator who brings the most up-to-date products and methods to her business.
Along with stylists Tracy Wilcox and Kim Hill, the salon boasts 45 years of hair experience in coloring, highlights, cuts, permanent waves, treatments, and up-dos, as well as beauty services such as facial waxing. Manicures, pedicures, and acrylic nails will soon be available.
Although both Wilcox and Hill are experienced with multiple hair types, Wilcox has gained a following for expertise with thick hair, while Hill is known for her ability to finesse fine hair.
Beneath a purple cape, client Tara Cowell of Ortonville gets highlighted hair towel-blotted by Hebert, an experienced certified colorist. Hebert mixes toner, applying it to Cowell’s tresses.
‘See how the toner takes the brassiness out and makes it a nice summer blonde?? says Hebert.
‘I’ve always gone to Shelli and she’s great,? says Tara, who seeks out Hebert for hair cut and color services, as well as waxing.
Shear Madness clients have access to the latest in beauty before the rest of the public, she says. Customers rave about results with new products like Matrix ‘Cera-Repair Pro? color, and ‘Clean + easy? wax. The salon specializes in Matrix products, but caters to customers with other product preferences, Hebert says.
Texture perms have become the latest trend. In addition to professional styles and coloring, fashion hair colors–like purple and pink–are also available, along with versatile styles appealing to young businessmen, like the ‘fauxhawk?.
‘It’s a fake Mohawk,? says Hebert. ‘We cut it short but leave it longer on top so you can smoosh it together in the middle if you’re going out at night.?
Although she knows of no unhappy customers, Hebert encourages salon clients to speak up if they’re not satisfied.
‘If you’re unhappy in any way, please tell the stylists. We’d be more than happy to take care of it because our ultimate goal is to have happy customers.?
Shear Madness caters to male and female clients of all ages, and is located at 8339 M-15 in Goodrich in the Area 1 Real Estate building.
