Oxford resident Kirsten Boothe and her two children and two of their friends recently enjoyed a morning of berry picking, thanks to the Middleton family and their berry farm in Brandon Township.
Boothe said she had planned to take her daughters Chloe, 2 1/2, and twin sister Lily, along with brother Gabriel, 4, and friends Lucas Bivens, 4, and Dakota Bivens, 11, of Leonard, strawberry picking at the Middletons, and called to find out if they could accommodate Chloe, who has Cerebral Palsy and is in a wheelchair.
The Middletons said it would not be a problem, but when the group arrived on the morning of June 30, they were disappointed to find the farm was already closed because they had enough pickers for the day.
But the Middletons were kind enough to let the group come in and pick anyway, and even provided them with their own special spot.Kristen said the Bill and Barb Middleton attend same church her family does, United Methodist of Lake Orion.
