Two golfers from Oakland Township and one from Lake Orion competed in the Buick Junior Open, presented by Golfweek, at the Flint Elks Lodge 222 Golf Club in Grand Blanc, July 12-15.
From Oakland Township, Andrew Miller and Jason Praet competed, and also competing in the boys division was Timothy Marion of Lake Orion.
The event is conducted by the American Junior Golf Association, and is a 54-hole stroke play event.
The tournament features 81 boys and 21 girls, ages 12-18, from 15 states, Canada and Chile.
On July 14, in the first round, Miller had scores of 37 and 36, for a two-day total of 73.
In the second round on July 15, Miller had scores of 73 and 71, for a total of 144.
Praet had 39 and 35, for a total of 74 in the first round, and scores of 74 and 79 for a total of 153 in the second.
Marion had 38 and 38, for a total of 76 in the first round, and scores of 76 and 79 for 155 in the second.
