After being runover by a gravel train at the corner of M-24 and Burdick Street, John Layman, 52, sends greetings from Detroit Receiving Hospital. According to Art & Dick’s Party Store owner Sue Pendred, John is doing better. ‘He just started physical therapy,? she reported, ‘He’ll be doing that every other day.? John has had three skin graphs to his leg. Sue said John thanked everybody in Oxford for the cards and good wishes. ‘He misses walking and in his own words, ‘Being able to stand up on my own legs.?
