Lions and stars and bocce, oh my!

June 8 was a day of sports celebrities, fantastic food and bocce ? lots of bocce ? at Orion’s Palazzo di Bocce.
Located on M-24, just south of Silverbell Road, the 32,000-square-foot, 10-court, bocce palace played host to the Detroit Lions Head Coach Steve Mariucci’s Second Annual Celebrity Bocce Tournament.
Twenty-eight, four-man teams competed in the event, raising more than $200,000 for Detroit Lions Charities.
From former Lions greats like Ron Kramer and Herman Moore to modern day players like Cory Schlesinger and Terrence Holt, sports celebrities were around every corner.
Even MSU Spartans Tom Izzo and John L. Smith stopped by to help a fellow coach support a good cause.
One thing’s for sure, everyone had a ball!
