Lorimer began his business slow. He purchased a couple of homes, renovated them and then rented them. While in school at Lawrence Technology University, Lorimer learned to apply his knew’found knowledge to building projects.
In 1989, Michael opened the doors to Lorimer Building Company. Working with a staff of five, Michael’s business is nestled comfortably in his Clarkston home.
Building approximately seven homes per year in the surrounding area, Lorimer homes have a European look. The company mills their own wood to assure perfection.
Today, Lorimer homes can be seen in areas including Pebble Creek, Oakhurst, Bridge Valley and Bridge Lake Bluffs. Ranging from $500,000 to $2 million, Lorimer uses only the best materials and staff to built a quality, comfortable and creative home. Lorimer’s parents, William (Bill) and Patricia (Pat), began their building company in 1954. The business was a slow and steady project that escalated into a tradition and legend of custom designed homes.
Bill began building in the Birmingham/Bloomfield areas. The work was steady, building only two or three homes per year. Known for the ability to be able to build a home on any lot, Bill was successful with his business. He established a style with his family’s hands in the mix.
