April Heier, of the Orion Township Parks and Recreation Department, helped fourth and fifth-grade student council members at Carpenter Elementary School clean up the area around the school on June 9, by cleaning out the storm drains along Flintridge and marking them with ‘Dump No Waste? decals. The students worked in three groups, and the project was part of the Pre-River Day events, leading up to Clinton River Watershed Council’s River Day 2005 celebration on June 11.
