Golfers raise money for Orion Oaks student

The 16th Annual Mike Quinn Golf Classic was held on May 7 at Copper Hills in Oxford, this year raising money to help cover medical expenses for Dakoda Baryla, a kindergartener at Orion Oaks Elementary. Baryla, 6, was diagnosed in July 2004 with Encephalopathy, a life threatening neurological disorder. He is currently undergoing numerous tests, but there is currently no cure for the disorder. The Mike Quinn Golf Classic was started in 1990, to help raise money for Mike Quinn, a Lake Orion youth with leukemia, who passed away in 1991. The golfers raised $26,000 this year.
