Brandon girls golfers attain school record in defeating Clawson

Brandon’s girls golf team made history in their May 9 matchup against Clawson.
The Blackhawks shot a school record in defeating visiting Clawson 186-279 in a match at Goodrich Country Club. Brandon is now 7-3 overall.
Laura Kwiatkowski shot a 42 to lead the Goodrich efforts, while two other Blackhawks shot under 50: Becca Scherer (44) and Casey Nesterowich (49).
Others competing at the meet were Abby Galey (51), Tiffany Harding (53), Katie Koontz (54), Rebekah Schroll (54), and Chelsea Perry (59)
Brandon lost a tight Flint Metro League contest May 6, as the Blackhawks fell to Linden 198-204.
Kwiatkowski earned medalist honors for the meet, shooting a round of 42, while Schroll shot 53. Other Brandon golfers were Jessica Laviolette (54), Galey (55), Katie Koontz (57), and Shannon Lenartowicz (65).
That same day, the Blackhawks defeated Lapeer East 204-234 5o improve to 2-3 in Flint Metro League play.
Once again, Kwiatkowski was medalist for the matchup with a round of 45. Galey (51), Scherer (52), and Nesterowich (54) rounded out the Brandon scoring.
