For almost 25 years, Harrison Hoe Excavating, has been a full service excavating company specializing in septic systems, site work, basement excavations, and grading.
Last year the local established business dug a little deeper into the market.
At the request of customers, Brian Harrison, president and owner of Harrison Hoe Excavating, Inc. recently purchased a septic pump truck to add to the list of services they can now offer to homeowners and local developers.
‘I am happy that we can now further satisfy our customers,? Harrison said, adding that he bought the truck to be able to give quality service to his Brandon Township, Goodrich, and Holly customers.
For more than 23 years, Harrison Hoe has been installing septic systems for residential homeowners and larger developments.
‘In the past, people were surprised that the pumping service was not included in our bids for their septic system contracts,? Harrison said. ‘It just makes sense that an installer would service their work by pumping and cleaning the tank when needed. In the short time that I’ve been doing this, I can honestly say that the biggest reason most people’s septic systems fail prematurely is because they do not have their tank cleaned as often as they should. People can save the major cost of replacing their septic fields, by spending the relatively small amount it takes to maintain and service their system with pumping and cleaning their system at scheduled intervals.?
Harrison Hoe also offers pond digging services for homes and business. From private trout ponds, to water gardens, to castle moats, design consideration is the key element to the construction of a pond.
The company has a 320 Caterpillar excavator which is specially designed for pond construction. A ‘modern day drag line,? the 320 has a 50 foot reach which allows the operator to negotiate within a narrow strip of property in other tight spaces.
Beginning his company in 1980 with a backhoe and a 5 yard dump truck and trailer, Harrison moved his base operations to Ortonville in 1998. Today, the company has grown to include excavators, dozers, backhoes, loaders, scrapers, as well as fleet of trucks and trailers to meet the needs of both commercial and residential construction.
In addition to extensive equipment geared for large open projects, Harrison Hoe has also added two small specialty pieces of equipment that are perfect for jobs with limited working space and which minimize damage to existing landscaping or site conditions.
