With 13 years of experience in the Ortonville community, Connie Brewer State Farm Insurance has become known for giving clients personal attention when it comes to their insurance needs.
‘It’s a small community,? Brewer said of Ortonville. ‘The people are friendly. You see a lot of loyalty among the customers. It has a nice small-town atmosphere.?
Brewer has been with State Farm since 1973 and held several claim positions before opening her agency in Ortonville.
She has also been involved in the community, holding the position for two years as president of the Chamber of Commerce.
‘State Farm is the leader in the insurance industry, and a great company to be involved with,? Brewer said. ‘We insure more autos and homes than any insurance company in the nation. We give excellent claim service. In 2003, we were rated number one by J.D. Power and Associates.?
State Farm offers auto, home, health, and life insurance, and long term care. They also have an extensive list of bank products, including a good rate on CDs, as well as savings, home equity, and car loans.
As of Mar. 1, the one-year rate on a CD is 3.2 percent, while the rate on a five-year CD is 3.92 percent.
Two other agents assist Brewer in her office: Jane Clancy, who has been with State Farm for five years, and is fully licensed in property and life products; and Tina McKechnie, who has been with the company for 10 months, and is licensed in property products.
‘Both of them are from the area and have a good feel for the community,? Brewer said.
Brewer said State Farm’s family atmosphere is what sets them apart from other insurance companies.
‘We have a lot of fun among the employees in the office and with the clients,? she said. ‘People can always call here and get an answer when they need one.?
Brewer said the company has a big auto promotion going on, featuring higher potential for discounts for new and existing clients.
As the Ortonville community continues to grow, Brewer hopes the agency will continue to grow as well.
‘A lot of people are moving to this area, and we’d like to meet more of them,? she said.
