Court orders more clean up at North Shore home

First it was an unsafe garage that needed to be torn down in 2000. Now a North Shore homeowner will have to pay for the village to come onto his property and do some repair/clean up work.
According to Lake Orion Village Manager JoAnn Van Tassel, Bruce Cranicik has been cited and ticketed for numerous property maintenance violations. He failed to comply and the village took him to court recently.
Judge Julie Nicholson of 52/3 District Court in June ordered the village could go on the property and correct the violations. The village could assess all costs against the property and put it as a tax lien against the property if Cranick fails to pay those costs.
According to village maintenance officer Chuck McLaughlin, the house needs windows, paint, there’s holes in the siding and the yard has garbage and junk lying around.
One neighbor complained to the police department that she can’t sell her house because of the condition of Cranick’s property.
In a report, McLaughlin said Cranick told him he doesn’t have any money to do any painting or repair work and just wants his neighbors to leave him alone.
