Atlas Twp. – Based on interview and Atlas Township meeting information, an article in The Citizen last week contained incorrect information.
The G-Link system has been operational in Atlas Township for18 years, says former Atlas treasurer Sara Bachmann.
Sending tax information to Genesee County will now be accomplished via a Sysco router and a special ISDN phone line, said Maxine Henry, Genesee County Property Tax Team systems analyst.
The DSL phone line-router system has been available for several years, said Henry, who compares the improved system with the difference between cable and dial-up Internet access.
Townships throughout the county are using the system to replace the former practice of a dial-up line, which dialed into a modem pool. The old system timed out users if the modem pool was full, said Henry.
