The family grieves the sudden loss of Matthew, survived by his wife Silvia, sons Lucas and David, and dog Trooper. He is also survived by his mother Margaret Henry, sisters Kimberly (Don) McClain, Jacquelyn (Steve) Filarecki and brothers James K Henry and Mark (Cindy) Henry. He is pre-deceased by his father, James S Henry, and sister Katherine (Art) Schrah.
Matthew was a loving husband and father, always sharing himself with his family in his passion for kayaking, hiking, and anything car related. He will also be remembered for playing the saxophone, leading the Lake Orion band as Drum Major, and his love to attend music festivals with his sons and friends.
Matt was an accomplished man, receiving engineering related Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Central Michigan University. His career progressed working in the automotive field, most recently as an engineer at Eaton Corporation. He was relied on for his unique approaches to problems and received many awards and patents over the years.
He will be missed deeply by all who knew him.
Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024 at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion with Pastor Bob Holt officiating. The family received friends on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until the time of services.
