Oakland County Sheriff’s Department Lieutenant Bruce Naile, commander of the Orion Township Substation, was recently recognized for 35 years of service with the OCSD.
On June 9, Naile was surprised with a special tribute from state representative James Marleau, presented at Orion Township Hall by Thadd Gormas of Marleau’s office.
The tribute presentation was kept secret from Naile, who was surprised to find colleagues from the OCSD and the township, as well as his wife Darlene, daughter Shawn and granddaughter Avery, waiting for him in the township board room.
Naile began his service with the OCSD on Feb. 20, 1970. Also mentioned in the tribute was Naile’s army service as a combat medic, and his receiving the Silver Star for service during the Vietnam War.
