1,500 bikers expected for ‘Hogs in Ministry? camping weekend in July

Atlas Twp. – For the second year, a group of local bikers will join motorcyclists statewide for the Hogs In Ministry free July 3 and 4 camping motorcycle weekend.
Approximately 1,500 bikers from all over the state are expected to camp and ride, said HIM member Jim Walls, of Atlas Community Baptist Church.
Pitch a tent for free with HIM bikers July 3 at the Springfield Oaks Activity Center, site of the 4-H Fairground, located at 12450 Andersonville Road in Davisburg.
Registration for HIM’s seventh annual ‘Biker Sunday? begins at noon July 4 at the campground. Also free to registered participants: silk-screened event T-shirt, catered hog roast picnic with homemade desserts, and an invitation to ride in the fifth annual police-escorted Ed Hazel Memorial Redemption Ride.
Boomer’s Biker Apparel of Waterford will again host rodeo-style biker games, including a slow race, balloon toss, and others, with trophies for the winners.
Individuals and patch-wearing clubs are invited to the neutral-ground event. ‘Alcohol, drugs, and attitudes are prohibited,? says Walls.
