‘Salute to Safety? has great turnout

‘Salute to Safety? put on June 4, by Clarkston Health Center, Sunrise Assisted Living and other community sponsors was a success. The event allowed the community to honor local police, fire and EMS personnel.
‘We probably raised between $3,000 and $4,000 and were pleased with the turnout for a first event. There was great participation. The groups involved were pleased and eager for next year,? said Marie Bristow of Clarkston Health Center.
Events included a high-angle water tower rescue, playground safety, carnival games, choking education, face painting, smokehouse encounter and other exhibits.
Proceeds go to the Clarkston Philanthropic Endeavor for placement of readily accessible AED’s (Automatic External Defibrillators) throughout the Clarkston community.
