The Orion Veterans Memorial host its second annual 5k run/walk on Memorial Day, May 28.
The patriotic race starts in Lake Orion, on Broadway Street south of Flint Street, in front of Sagebrush Cantina and finishes at Odanah Ave., west of the memorial on M-24.
Dog tags will be handed out to each finisher.
Race day check in and registration is at Lockhart’s BBQ, 37 Flint St., starting at 10:30 a.m. and the race begins at noon.
Registration and packet pickup will also be on Sunday from noon-4 p.m. at Hanson’s Running Shop on the corner of Flint and Broadway streets.
The Orion Veteran’s Memorial commemoration includes a wreath ceremony at Children’s Park, a parade on Broadway and an annual Memorial Day ceremony at the Orion Veteran’s Memorial.
The cost to race is $25 for all ages and $20 for active military and veterans. Race day registration pricing increases by $5.
