The girl’s varsity cross country team set school records Saturday at the MHSAA Regionals in Algonac, with three runners qualifying individually for state finals.
Sophie Novak placed 2nd overall and set a new school record. Allison Sherman finished 4th and ran a faster time than the previous school record. Emily Leipold placed 11th. All three girls earned individual medals and qualified for the MHSAA State finals.
The team qualified for the MHSAA State finals on Nov. 4 at MIS.
Also running for the team at states will be Olivia Ames, Marissa O’Leary, Abby Locke,Iris Meech, and the teams alternative runner will be Alexa Mathes. — S.C.
