This past week the Lake Orion varsity girls basketball team came back after their long Christmas break and won both games they played.

Their first game of the new year was at Southfield A&T on Jan 5.  The Dragons started out slow as they were down 12 after the first quarter.

Lake Orion came back though and ended up winning the game 53-38.

Chloe Wiegers lead the Dragons scoring for the night with 14 points, Maddie Ebbert had a double-double with 10 points and 11 steals and Charlotte Peplowski had 8 points.

The next day, Lake Orion took on the Holly Bronchos at Lake Orion High School. The Lady Dragons led the entire game and did not allow a single point the entire second half.

Lake Orion won the game 66-10 and extended their record to 8-1. Maddie Ebbert led the Dragons with 13 points and 9 steals, Audrey Wischmeyer scored 9 points, and Kylie Heck had 7.

Lake Orion went undefeated in the first week of 2023.

The Dragons game on Friday against Rochester High School was canceled because they already played Rochester at LCA in December.

The Dragons are currently 2-0 in the new year, 7-1 overall.
