The Lake Orion Summer Concert series kicked off on Sunday with a performance by Lake Orion musician Steve Taylor.
More than 100 people attended the first performance in the series.
The concerts are held at Children’s Park from 2-4 p.m. every Sunday through September.
“I think it went great, actually. I think we attracted a lot of people,” said Lake Orion DDA Executive Director Molly LaLone.
“I am cautiously optimistic that this is going to be a good time and day for the concerts,” she said.
The summer concert series moved to Sundays from Wednesdays with the hopes that more families could attend on the weekend.
20 Front Street music venue partnered with the DDA to bring the musicians to the stage for the series.
Lockhart’s BBQ will be on site with a limited carryout menu and Oxford Bank will hand out popcorn and water bottles at no charge.
Downtown merchants will offer their support of the concerts by donating prizes each week. Anyone at the park during the concert will be eligible to win.
Supporting the concert series by sponsorship is the Lake Orion DDA, Oxford Bank, 20 Front Street, M & B Graphics and The Lake Orion Review.
