Brandon Twp.-At a cost of more than $20,000, crews from Luke’s Trucking demolished an abandoned home at 2330 Ortonville Road on Wednesday. The home had suffered massive damage due to flooding over the past three years, say township officials. In addition, the roof had collapsed and the home was in extreme disrepair after the owners had walked away from the property.
‘We’re pleased with the township board that we were able to have this home demolished,? said Ron Lapp, township supervisor. ‘The township can recover the costs associated with the process when the property is sold.?
Lapp said the property is currently zoned residential, but due to the high traffic location along M-15 could be considered for commercial rezoning.
