Night work for M-15 project in May

Mike Hemmingsen, Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Davison Transportation Service Center manager said a major section of M-15 between I-69 to the Oakland County line south of Goodrich will be resurfaced with one-and a half inches asphalt starting in May, with the projected completed in late June.
The M-15 road surface in the Village of Goodrich will be omitted from the project due to curb cuts necessary within the limits’the project will be completed on a separate job, he said.
Hemmingsen said that due to traffic volumes on M-15 the project will be worked on during the night hours.
‘It’s going to be noisy during the late night hours,? he said. ‘However it will be only for a few days, then we’ll move on. There’s less traffic during those hours. It’s a trade off.?
In addition, Hemmingsen said that during the summer of 2011 a left turn lane is planned for the intersection of Green Road and M-15.
‘We looked at the history of crashes at that intersection and determined a turn lane would help correct the problem.?
The project will be paid for by the State of Michigan Highway Safety Fund.
