Neiman’s Family Market offers new place to shop

Clarkston now has a family-owned grocery store to call its own. Neiman’s Family Market, located at 7121 Dixie Highway at White Lake Road, officially opened its doors to customers this morning at 9 a.m.
Neiman’s offers a full service deli providing customers with select cuts meats and cheese.
‘We thrive on special requests, and our staff will cut the meat anyway the customers like it,? said Marketing Coordinator Bethany Schafer.
According to Schafer, fried chicken is a Neiman’s specialty, and will be cooked up daily by workers.
‘We like to say our fried chicken is better than the colonel’s,? she insists.
Specialty food trays including gourmet cheese spread, fiesta mix, grand garden, shrimp cocktail, and ‘meat-and-greet? party trays can also be ordered by customers for special events.
Wine samplings are each Friday at the store from 1-6 p.m. Schafer said employees will offer customers unique first-to-market beer and wines, favorite wines and Neiman’s exclusive beverages. Customers can also choose from a large beer and wine selection at the store.
A bulk goods section will offer a variety of products like special candies, oats, nuts, spices and candies. Customers can purchase available items in large or small quantities.
‘We can give them a pinch or a pound,? said Schafer.
For those with a sweet tooth or a special party to plan, Neiman’s bakers will also be hard at work making donuts, fresh bread, cupcakes, cakes and custom decorated cakes.
A flower tent at Nieman’s will offer flowers, plants and specialty items like pumpkins. Every summer and spring, the flower department at Neiman’s will offer a wide range of hanging flower baskets, potted plants, flats, herbs and much more.
‘We can also help with unique gift ideas,? said Schafer.
Store director John Schmidt said the staff at Neiman’s will always work hard for the community.
‘We are a very family orientated business, and work hard at community events,? he said. ‘That is part of belonging to the community.?
Schmidt said Neiman’s has already began supporting the community and has provided things like water and financial support to community events like SCAMP and the Angel’s Race.
‘This is a very active community,? smiled Schmidt.
An active and successful community was one of the reasons Neiman’s choose to call Clarkston home.
‘We saw this as a perfect location because we knew it was an area that would appreciate a community minded grocery store,? said Schmidt.
Schmidt said the newly hand- picked staff will help also work hard for the Clarkston community.
Neiman Family Market now includes four locations including stores in Alpena, Tawas, St. Clair and the newest location in Clarkson.
Neiman’s will be open each day 6 a.m. to midnight.
Customers can also create an online account at www.neimansfamilymarket.com to browse deals and create a personalized shopping list.
