Local Churches host Easter events

Unity Church of Lake Orion’s’minister and spiritual leader, Rev. Gregory Guice will speak about ‘Lighting the Road to Calvary,? on Good Friday, March 21 at 7 p.m. On Easter Sunday, Rev. Guice will present ‘The Blessing of Easter Morning,? at 10 a.m.

Shalom Baptist Church will host their 12th annual Easter Egg Spectacular on Saturday, March 22 from 10 a.m. to noon.
All are welcome to attend and there will be a free magic show and graded hunts for children 12 and under.

The Oxford/Orion Ministerial Association will host a combined community Good Friday service on Friday, March 21 at Oxford United Methodist Church (21 E. Burdick St., Oxford) from 12:15-1 p.m.
Clergy from Oxford United Methodist Church, Christ the King Church, Seymour Lake United Methodist Church, St. Joseph Catholic Church, King of Kings Lutheran Church and the Lake Orion United Methodist Church will be officiating the service. All are welcome.

The First Baptist Church of Clarkston will host several services for Easter weekend.?
On Friday, March 21, at 7 p.m., the First Baptist Church Drama Team will present the Easter drama, ‘The Rising.?
On Sunday, March 23, there will be a free breakfast for guests at 9 a.m. The morning worship service begins at 10:30, during which there will be a repeat performance of ‘The Rising.?

Everyone in the community is invited to attend Easter worship at Immanuel United Church of Christ in downtown Oxford. Worship is at 11 a.m. and children are welcome to remain in the pews with their parents or, if they prefer, preschoolers may go to the nursery provided. Communion will be offered to all who desire to share in Christ’s meal.
This Easter worship will feature a sermon by guest pastor Renee C. Jackson, and special musical guests from Forever Blessed Ministries will join the Immanuel Choir and organist Dennis Souter.
