Best Buy grants helps schools

Best Buy awarded $4,000 in gift cards to teachers Holly Rupprecht, Clarkston High School, and Margaret Montney, Renaissance High School.
Teachers submit entries every September on how they would use the grant to improve technology in the classroom and make it fun, said Jim Altene, general manager for Best Buy, Auburn Hills.
‘Best Buy gives a lot to the community every year,? Altene said.
Rupprecht will use her $2,000 gift card for digital video equipment, for use in science presentations.
‘The kids test river quality (in the Clinton River Watershed),? she said. ‘My hope is the kids become environmental stewards.?
They will also post podcasts on the Internet, sharing what they learn with students in other districts, she said.
