If you do not like the choices for President at the top of your ballot, you can simply abstain there and continue down the ballot making choices that will impact our local community. I feel lucky to personally know four people who I can support for seats on the Lake Orion Community Schools Board of Education.
Nathan Butki has taken on two volunteer position in the past two years leading the Long Range Planning committee and the Serving Our Students committee that advocated for the sinking fund. Nate has a natural leadership style that brings out the best in others around him. Nate will help bring out the community’s best ideas that will help our schools.
Birgit McQuiston is the incredible combination of being detailed oriented while still seeing the big picture. Her meticulous preparation and analysis are always done through a filter of doing what is best for the students and and the community as a whole.
Dana Mermell is an extremely thoughtful person who makes sure that she does her homework on every issue. Dana enjoys serving others and will always be looking to represent the interests of the community.
Scott Taylor cares for the Lake Orion community with a passion that defines his whole being. When faced with tough decisions, Scott is always looking to build consensus trying to bring the community together to move forward as one.
Please remember that this election is bigger than any flaws you may perceive at the top of the ballot. Lake Orion still needs you to get out and vote for Butki, McQuiston, Mermell and Taylor onNovember 8th.
