Atlas Twp.-A township man died early Tuesday morning following a head-on collision on M-15 at Bendix Drive.
According to Genesee County Sheriff Capt. Robb Heath, at about 4:30 a.m., Feb. 9, a northbound pickup truck driven by a Lapeer County man lost control, colliding with a southbound pickup truck driven by William Leroy Warren, a 56-year-old Atlas Township man.
According to eyewitnesses both vehicles were traveling at approximately 45 mph in snowy conditions at the time of the accident.
Warren died at the scene, according to police.
The Lapeer County man, along with a male passenger also from Lapeer County, were transported to Genesys Medical Center and released the same day.
All occupants were wearing seatbelts and alcohol was not a factor. The road was closed between Green and Kipps roads until about 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.
The accident remains under investigation.
