Open house at Flashes of Life

Flashes of Life Photography hosts a ribbon cutting for its new studio, Friday, Aug. 13, at 4:30 p.m.
“Our studio isn’t big, but it’s very classy ? boutique style photography,” said photographer Rachel Goldsworthy.
She offers wedding, high school senior, babies, and maternity photography, in the studio and on location in Independence Oaks, Baycourt Park, and Depot Park, as well as spots in Royal Oak and Pontiac.
“We do a lot of outdoor photography,” said Rachel, who owns the studio with her husband, Randy Goldsworthy. “We go on location all over the place.
‘I love Clarkston,” she added. “My husband taught in Clarkston, so he knows the kids. I grew up in Clarkston, it’s my hometown. We live in Clarkston. It’s my favorite area.”
She earned degrees in photographic tech and liberal arts at Oakland Community College
“In school, people would ask me if I could do their photos. It evolved from that,” she said. “I love photography. It’s my passion.”
Randy runs the business end of Flashes of Life, founded in 2007, and she concentrates on the artistic part.
Each session starts with a consultation, where she learns about the subject’s personality.
“Get their style, capture who the person is,” she said. “Their hobbies, culture, what makes them laugh ? pull out the beautiful person inside.”
They will offer $25 off sitting fee for those attending the ribbon cutting.
The ribbon cutting is at 4:30 pm, and the party and open house continue until 10:30 p.m. at the studio, 5867 Dixie Highway, right before L.A. Cafe.
Thru the month of August, office hours are 12-4 p.m., Tuesdays-Friday. For more information or to make an appointment, check folphotography.com or call 248-535-6156.
