Terry Purdy-Swenson, formerly of Lake Orion, graduated from the US Marine Corps. bootcamp at Marine Corps. Recruit Depot in San Diego on Dec. 5.
Terry earned honors in marksmanship during the 13 weeks of intensive basic training and graduated as his platoon leader and Series Honorman.
After ten days of leave and assisting area recruiters, Terry will report to Camp Pendleton for one month at Militiary Combat Training. He will then begin Military Occupation Specialty School.

Eric Ovellet graduated from the Army ROTC Leader Development and Assessment Course last month.
The program is 32 days of intense training and focuses on military life, administration and logistical support. It is also know as Operation Warrior Forge and is housed at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, WA.
Eric is the son of John Ovellet of Lake Orion.
