Girls place 1st at Oxford track invitational

Congratulations to the Oxford Varsity girls? track team for their 1st Place win at the Oxford Invitational last Saturday.
The girls finished with a total of 146.5 points in front of Lake Orion, Holly and Romeo.
Highlights for the girls included sophomore Shannon Seeley’s 1600 (5:34.46); junior Hannah George’s 400 (1:01.29); sophomore Kate Wolanin’s 300 hurdles (49.31); sophomore Keeona Ives? 200 (26.70); and senior captain Shaunte Waller’s discus (113-6).
Highlights from the boys? team included the 800 relay team of seniors Zach Tilley, David Hurrish, Andrew Klimbal and James Nelson (1:31.90); and the 200, also by Nelson (22.81).
Another great highlight was when freshman Sir Ralph Rodriguez broke the freshman shot put record of over 47 inches.
The Wildcats will compete in the MHSAA regional competition on Saturday, May 17 at Clarkston High School beginning at 9 a.m.
