Congratulations to Oxford resident Linda Parkhurst for winning the $500 Gas Giveaway contest from Uncle Boomba’s gas station and The Oxford Leader and Lake Orion Review.
Parkhurst was surprised with her winning certificate at her home last Thursday. She said she ‘never gave it a thought? that she would win the grand prize and that it was ‘like hitting the lottery.?
‘I’ve never won anything big in my life,? she said. ‘This will really, really come in handy.?
Parkhurst frequently drives to her cabin in Reynolds, logging 180 miles one way on her pick-up truck.
‘You’re saving me a bundle,? she said.
Parkhurst joked that she even ‘would’ve been happy with the ice cream cake.?
Forty residents and businesses subscribed or renewed their subscriptions for two years to The Leader or The Lake Orion Review with the hopes of winning the $500 grand prize or any of the other great weekly prizes, like gas cards and food from Mr. Pita.
