After 20 rounds lasting a total of 45 minutes, Leonard Elementary fifth-grader Sean Gilmore finally won the school’s spelling bee last Thursday.
His opponent, fifth-grader Samantha Pastewski, kept the contest close throughout the numerous rounds with her skillfull spelling.
Out of the 60 fifth-graders in the school, Gilmore made it to the top 12. He won the bee by spelling the word ‘suppose.? Gilmore will compete in the county-wide spelling bee at Oakland University on Feb. 2 Congratulations!
