Rite Aid unveils new look

Patrons of the Rite Aid at M-15 and Dixie Hwy. may be surprised the next time they run in for some makeup, a snack or a prescription. The recently completed renovations to the interior of the building increased the square footage from 8,500 to 14,000 square feet.
The Clarkston location is Rite Aid’s first ‘New World Concept? store in Michigan.
‘As we move forward as a company, this is what you are going to see,? said Howard Nelson, district manager for Rite Aid.
The ‘New World Concept? focuses on larger stores with an enhanced focus on cosmetics and the pharmacy, as well as other aesthetic changes along the lines of displays and colors.
‘They’ve done a wonderful job. It’s hard to renovate in a location that you are keeping open,? said Sharon Catallo, mayor of the City of the Village of Clarkston, who was onhand on Aug. 7 to cut a ribbon commemorating the refurbishments.
Some of the other changes at the Clarkston Rite Aid include a consultation room for one on one discussions with a pharmacist, a drive through window for the pharmacy and a digital photo printing capabilities. The store and pharmacy are now open 24 hours a day.
