Free coffee at bark park

Hot coffee and canines make a warm combination this winter at Orion Oaks Bark Park.
Caribou Coffee Canine Hour is set for select Saturdays at the Oakland County Park. Dates include Jan. 8, Feb. 12, March 12 and April 9. From 9-11 a.m., Caribou staff will treat park guests to free coffee.
Royal Oak Caribou Coffee Store Manager Sara Toro is a park regular and Orion Township resident. She and her husband Brian visit almost daily with Betty, a four-year-old boxer.
‘The bark park is a great place to let dogs run and meet people,? she said. ‘I thought Caribou Coffee and the bark park in winter were an ideal match.?
‘Dogs still need exercise in winter and this gives the pet owners a little incentive to get up early for their bark park visit,? Sue Wells, chief of recreation, said.
An Oakland County Parks daily or annual vehicle permit is required. For a list of locations where permits can be purchased, visit www.co.oakland.mi.us/parksrec.
The bark park is located off Joslyn Road.
