Truck flips, driver flees on Coats Road

After a pickup truck flipped over on Coats Road Sunday, the driver fled the scene, leaving Oakland County Sheriff’s investigators to figure out why.
A 37-year-old Lake Orion man was heading south on Coats Road, between Stanton and Drahner roads, when his 1991 Dodge pickup truck rolled over.
The driver claimed an injury to one of his arms coupled with the gravel road caused him to lose control of the vehicle, according to Deputy David Slazinski.
‘It appears he swerved off the roadway and hit a tree,? which caused the vehicle to flip over, Slazinski said.
Following the accident, a witness told deputies the man ‘asked for a cigarette and said ‘I gotta get out of here.??
The driver fled the scene and was later found along Stanton Road, about a quarter-mile east of Baldwin Road. Oxford Second Assistant Fire Chief Dave Creech located the man.
The driver was injured and transported to POH Medical Center in Pontiac. A blood sample was taken for drug testing.
Slazinski noted vials of what are suspected to be injectable steroids were found in the vehicle. They’ve been sent to the sheriff’s crime lab for testing.
The vials were marked ‘Testen 300? and ‘Deca 300,? according to the deputy.
Testen 300 is otherwise known as ‘testosterone enanthate,? an exogenous (made outside the body) steroid. It’s one of the main forms of testosterone prescribed in the United States. It’s typically injected anywhere between once every week to once every three weeks.
Deca 300 is otherwise known as ‘Deca Durabolin.? It’s an injectable anabolic steroid.
The Lake Orion driver was not arrested and no charges have been filed against him at this time.
‘The case is open pending blood results and the lab results on the possible steroids that were found,? Slazinski said.
