Ah, spring! Time to shed those dark, heavy winter clothes for apparel that’s lighter and brighter.
Need some fun and stylish ideas for what to wear as the air gets warmer, grass gets greener and days get longer?
Head over to the Oxford Area Chamber of Commerce Spring Fashion Show Thursday, April 26 at the Oxford Hills Golf & Country Club on E. Drahner Road.
Watch 11 lovely local ladies (see list below) representing various chamber members model golf attire and spring casual wear, all from the Liz Claiborne store at Great Lakes Crossing.
‘Each lady will be modeling two outfits,? said Amy Alder, executive director of the chamber.
The show’s being sponsored by Oxford Bank, Lakes Community Credit Union, Healthy Smile Center, The Oxford Chiropractor, Harvest Time and The Oxford Leader.
And ladies, don’t leave those pocketbooks and credit cards at home because there will be an opportunity to make some purchases.
‘We’ll have shopping for about an hour before the show,? Alder said. ‘We have some really neat booths in place.?
From 5:30 until about 6:45 p.m. at least seven vendors will be selling everything from cosmetics and handbags to skin care products and jewelry.
Vendors include Great Lakes Mercantile, Mary Kay, Margot’s Gallery & Frame, Boutique to You, Tastefully Simple, Beadifferent and Arbonne.
‘We might have one or two more,? Alder noted.
Dinner, which consists of a delightful Julienne salad and dessert, and the fashion show will begin at 7 p.m.
Door prizes and ‘goodie bags with all kinds of fun things? will be given away, Alder noted.
Tickets are $20 each and proceeds benefit the chamber of commerce.
‘Ticket sales are awesome,? Alder said. ‘We have sold about 70 so far.?
A total of 100 tickets are available, but Alder said, ‘We can go a little bit over.?
