A 12-year-old male Oxford Middle School student is being investigated by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department in connection with two alleged assaults ? one physical and one sexual ? involving two different female OMS students.
According to Sheriff’s Det. Jason Louwaert, who works out of the Oxford Twp. substation, both of these alleged assaults occurred in May and on school grounds.
Both of the alleged assaults were reported to the sheriff’s department by the victims? respective parents.
The first alleged assault is reported to have occurred May 20.
‘This person allegedly punched a (13-year-old) girl in the face,? Louwaert said.
Details regarding the alleged physical assault have already been forwarded to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
The second alleged assault was reported May 29, but occurred earlier in the month.
This incident involved ‘unwanted sexual contact? with a 12-year-old female student, according to Louwaert.
When asked if he could be more specific, the detective said, ‘I really can’t comment on that right now.?
‘The sexual assault is still under investigation,? he said.
Despite rumors, the boy suspected of these alleged assaults lives in Oxford and is not a Schools of Choice student.
‘The rumor probably (started) because (the family) moved here from Pontiac,? Louwaert said. ‘It would be inaccurate to say he’s a School of Choice person.?
