Open House slow go

Attendance was poor, but patriotic spirit was plentiful at the Oxford Township Open House Saturday.
Despite the lure of free cheese and cake, not many residents showed up to tour the township’s new $1.8 million office complex on Dunlap Road
However, the Eastern Michigan Young Marines provided a bright spot in the day by conducting a flag raising ceremony that was polished, professional and respectful.
Oxford resident Kevin Phillips braved the bitter cold to play the Star Spangled Banner on his Flugelhorn as Old Glory was hoisted in the air.
