OMS kids battle to be ‘Master of the House?

Oxford Middle School’s gym was transformed Thursday into an American Gladiator-style arena as students competed all day long in a variety of challenging and fun events.
Dubbed ‘Master of the House,? the wacky competition divided the sixth, seventh and eighth grades into the Blue and Gold teams.
The two teams then competed against each other in events such as an inflatable obstacle course, giant slide relay, jousting and everybody’s favorite ? human foosball.
The winning team in each grade level received an OMS megaphone as a trophy, the coveted title of ‘Master of the House? and bragging rights for the next year.
OMS Principal Ken Weaver said the event is designed to boost school spirit as well as have a good time. ‘It’s a chance for them to enjoy some competition, but at the same time come together as Wildcats,? he said.
