Nassar running for Brandon clerk

Oxford Village Clerk Susan Nassar filed her paperwork to run as a Republican for the Brandon Township clerk’s position.
‘I love Oxford, but I also have a responsibility to my hometown, which needs experience,? said Nassar, who’s lived in Brandon for 20 years.
Nassar was hired as the village’s clerk (a nonelected position) in March 2011.
She will face three other Republican clerk candidates in Brandon’s Aug. 7 primary.
Nassar believes she can bring both ‘experience? and the ‘best practices (of) the communities that I’ve worked for? to the Brandon clerk’s department.
Prior to Oxford, Nassar worked as the clerk/treasurer for the Village of Holly, deputy clerk for Brandon Township and building department administrator for Groveland Township.
When asked if she believes she’ll be able to effectively balance both campaigning in Brandon and working in Oxford Village, Nassar replied, ‘Absolutely.?
Oxford residents interested in following Nassar’s progress in the campaign will be able to stay informed by reading our sister newspaper The Citizen, which covers Brandon, Ortonville, Goodrich and Atlas.
