Guido’s Premium Pizza: Serving Oxford for 15 years

After 15 years of serving hot, delicious pizza to residents of Oxford, Guido’s Premium Pizza is finally coming home to Orion Township.
With eight other locations in southeast Michigan and one all the way up in Sault Ste. Marie, Guido’s will open their 10th location across from The Palace of Auburn Hills at Lapeer Rd. and Dutton this year.
They’ve also recently opened new stores in Novi (Grand River and Beck) and Okemos (near MSU) and are planning to eventually open one in the Lapeer area.
With all this growth during hard economic times, it’s obvious Guido’s Premium Pizza has struck a tasty chord with their customers.
‘Most of my stores saw double-digit increases last year,? said Guido’s Premium Pizza franchise owner and founder Shawn McGuire.
‘Also, pizza’s still a really good value for what you get,? he said. ‘You can’t feed the family any other way that is cheaper.?
With gas prices as high as they are today, delivery really is the best option.
‘Even though we charge for delivery, at $3 a gallon, if you’re going to get in your car to drive, you’re going to spend just about as much as what you’re paying for the delivery service,? McGuire said.
So, what’s the secret of his success for the last 15 years Great people.
‘I surround myself with great people, it’s not just me,? he said, noting that his Oxford store manager, Kelly Hickmott, has been with him for 12 years and is the best manager he’s ever worked with.
‘You have to have a great product, good location and advertising, but all of that is useless if the customer comes in and they’re not serviced properly or their product’s not made correctly,? he said.
One challenge Guido’s Premium Pizza is facing is the increased cost to create their one-of-a-kind pizzas, which has driven many competitors out of business.
‘We may be a little bit more pricey than other places, but you get more food for you dollar, which makes us a better value than our competitors,? McGuire said.
Guido’s sauce selection is unique and gives the customer the ability to create their own pizza to suit their needs. Whether you want Guido’s Original Sauce or a Chunky Tomatoe Sauce, or even a Spicy Fire Roasted Sauce, you won’t be disappointed.
If you’re feeling like something a little bit different, we’ve got it,? McGuire said.
Right now, Guido’s is offering their Big ‘G? Deep Dish Supreme Pizza (pictured right). With 16 slices to choose from, you’re sure to get a bite of the spicy pepperoni, ham, Italian sausage, bacon, green peppers, onions and mushrooms in every bite. This pizza can feed up to six people for only $19.45 plus tax. Now that’s value!
Guido’s is also the headquarters for all your catering needs. Their party planning guide makes it easy to decide how much to buy and offers many different combinations. Whether it’s mostaccioli, pasta or chicken, they’ve got it.
