Class of 2007 is outta here!

Diplomas were handed out.
Tassels switched sides.
Hugs were traded.
Tears flowed freely.
After four years of classes, pep assemblies, cafeteria lunches, dances and Friday nights with Bud and his boys, the Class of 2007 bid farewell Sunday to their carefree years at Oxford High School.
‘Remember those kids we used to look up to when we were younger?? asked Class President Tiara Tatarczuk. ‘We’d say, ‘Wow, they’re so cool!? Well, that’s us right now. We’re those kids.?
A total of 283 seniors graduated from OHS this year, 108 of which did so with varying degrees of honors.
Twenty-eight students graduated with highest honors, achieving Grade Point Averages between 3.8 and 4.0
The 39 seniors who earned GPAs of 3.5 to 3.79 graduated with high honors.
Graduating with honors were 41 seniors possessing GPAs ranging from 3.2 to 3.49.
Mitchell James Blose was bestowed the highest honor a graduating Wildcat can receive ? the Oxford Cup.
Since 1930, the prized silver cup has been awarded at commencement to the graduating senior who’s ‘shown the best all around development.?
Selected by a vote of the junior and senior classes along with OHS faculty, the winner must exhibit ‘proficiency in scholarship, friendly social qualities, well-balanced physical development and superior school citizenship.?
‘It’s a great honor,? Blose said. ‘I’m thankful to all my peers for voting for me.?
Finalists for the award included Danielle Bizzotto, Kaitlyn Fischer, Jacqueline Magdaleno and Tiara Tatarczuk.
Blose, who will be attending Adrian College in the fall to study business and play football, had no idea he would win the cup.
‘I was shocked,? he said. ‘I’m totally surprised.?
Blose was very grateful to his family and acknowledged their role in achieving this distinction.
‘I just want to say thanks to my family who’s supported me all through the years,? he said. ‘I couldn’t have done this without them.?
