Last week was certainly a hectic one for the Oxford Fire Department.
Firefighters went on a total of 65 calls between June 8 and 15.
‘That’s quite a few calls for us,? said Fire Chief Jack LeRoy.
A little over half of those runs were related to the severe storm June 8, which caused numerous downed wires along with many fallen trees and branches.
Ironically, the department went on 13 runs on Friday the 13th.
‘Friday was our busiest day in a long time other than the Sunday before,? LeRoy said. ‘We ran seven calls in 2?-hours. And they were a mixed bag of things, everything from injury accidents to wires down to sick people. It was just a busy day.?
LeRoy’s hoping things will calm down for a while.
‘I would like to get everything fixed up and get caught back up again,? he said.
